My name is Roo Roos and I'm a freelance picture book illustrator. I grew up dyslexic and often struggled with reading and writing. Now as an adult I'm hoping to create books to help people out there like me. It's important to me that every person gets a chance to learn at the pace they need. I want to create safe spaces for all the unique people of the world. I hope my picture books can help others the way books have helped me grow and learn over the years.

I once came across a purple lake in a forest of blue trees.

From out of the lake a small turtle appeared. His shell looked like mother of pearl, as it glimmered rainbow in the light.

He wore many jewels around his neck and body. He looked like the treasures only to be seen in museums and storybooks

He was king of the Blue Forest.

He opened up his mouth and pulled a bracelet from his throat, with jewels that only could have been gifted to him from the moon herself...

...We exchanged gifts and I was off to my next adventure.
